Big Lottery grant and work recommencing on the play area

In May the Treuddyn Community Council were delighted to receive confirmation that we had been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery.

This will be used for 2 main purposes :

1/ To enable us to support the cycle training and coaching,  continue track maintenance and provide insurances for our cyclists for the next 3 years.

2/ To complete the play area with the adult fitness equipment and the Amazon climber which will test the strength and nerve of all ages.

The work on the play area will recommence next week and should be complete within 5 days (weather permitting).  This is a list of the things changing or being added….

An Amazon climber is being installed.

A climbing lantern is being installed near the spinning ring.

A seat is being  installed on the raised bank between the football pitch and the bike track.

A second seat is being installed facing the Titan, Amazon and slide.

The 5 pieces of fitness equipment are being installed either side of the pod and around the corner near the existing wooden bench.

We are also having one of the existing rubbish bins moved to near the entrance to the Under 7s area.

The toddler swing seats in the Under 7s area are being replaced with new versions as the old ones are worn and the plastic is cracking.

Finally the seesaw in the Under 7s area is getting a new top (a steel beam, seats and balancing platform) – the old one still has some components which can be used by Flintshire CC in other play areas to repair damaged items so we are donating it to them to cannibalise as required.
