Flintshire County Council – Worsening budget position. Find out how cuts could affect you.

flintshire logoYou might be thinking why this debate and why now? What’s changed?

A bigger debate is needed because the public services across Wales are now under considerable budget pressure.

This is because the cuts imposed by the UK Government are now beginning to bite in Wales; the Welsh Government is being given less money to pay for the important public services it provides.

These services include local government, education, social care, health, housing, transport and fire and rescue.

FCC are carring out a consultation on the cuts.

The consultations are called the ‘Big Budget Conversation’.

Tell FCC What you think.

There are two opportunities for you to join the ‘conversation’.

It is important that everyone has their say.

Step 1 – 18 August to 12 September 2014
Tell them whether or not you support some of the choices FCC will need to make in the future.

Step 2 – Late Autumn / Early Winter 2014
A series of public consultations are being planned to share options for the future and the budget choices.

FCC will widely publicise the dates and locations of these events.

The closing date for forms, on-line and by post is Friday 12 September 2014.

The decisions about which services should be cut are important. This will affect us all. Make sure that you have your say in what should be the priorities.
