County Councillor Carolyn Thomas
I started the Llanfynydd Community newsletter to inform residents of events and bring the widespread community together, I now produce 3 per year. Since becoming Treuddyn County Councillor, I also write two A4 pages for the Treuddyn news.
I started my working life as an administrator in an office, I have worked abroad and changed jobs to fit in with family life but always working. When my children were preschool and needed me at home during the day, I worked in the evening and volunteered in the community, working in a shop, selling Avon, helping in the disabled riding centre and looking after pensioners’ gardens.
Some people know me from when I worked at Pontybodkin Post Office which was based in Reflections Hairdressers, it is now Barndy pet shop.
I enjoy learning, new challenges and helping people. I become a County Councillor because I was asked by local residents; I did my own publicity material and campaign leaflet. I am Independent and not aligned to any political party. I did join the other group of Independents at Flintshire County Council so I could be a part of Scrutiny Committees.
