Remembrance Sunday 2014

poppy 100 yearsThis civic service is hosted annually by Treuddyn Community Council at St Mary’s Church Treuddyn.

Treuddyn Community Council would like to thank the many people who help make this a special event in the village calendar. Each year the number of people attending the church service and the service at the War Memorial has grown and this year the church was completely filled. 12 wreaths were laid during this year’s service.

Thanks to : Rev John B Jones for conducting the service – in what will be his last Remembrance Service as he is retiring in January.

The PCC, wardens and organist at St Mary’s for their services.

Both Ysgol Terrig and Ysgol Parc Y Llan who provided groups of children for presentations during the service

Trumpet & cornet players – Ben Littler, Rebekah Bentley and Ella Perks

Tony & Alison from the Salty Onion Cafe for providing refreshments afterwards

Clive & Gail Swan for their contribution of cakes and parking facilities

For members of the TCC who help things run smoothly on the day and help organise the Poppy collections in the village – many contribute but Paula Bidwell and Barry Jones play the major roles.

Finally thanks to the residents of Treuddyn who respect the short period of road closure required to give the service at the War Memorial the gravitas and respect it is due.
