Treuddyn Festival 2010

The Treuddyn Festival 2010 was a great success!!

The weather kept (almost) fine for us. The turn out was excellent and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Our team of motor cyclists were amazing to watch. The team was bigger this year and everyone’s skills had increased to new high levels – they were jumping 20 feet in the air!

The birds of prey were fascinating.  The displays with a low flying Harris Hawk made you aware of how quickly these birds can move.  The Barn Owl that made a bid for freedom was persuaded down for photographs.

The barbeque and the teas were first class and a large number of barrels of beer and lager were were consumed.

The children’s tents provided a fantastic range of activities. The number of stalls exceeded last year.

The street dancers were really good. Well done to everyone! The bands and groups in the village hall provided a full day of entertainment with skilled performances catering for every taste. The schools contributed with their usual very high standards.

The cadets provided their an excellent service for First Aid cover, the tug of war and turned their hand to anything that needed to be done.

The evening concert was a good way for everyone to relax after the day.  The Hayley Sisters’ music was enjoyed by everyone.

Fund raising as well as fun was an important task for the day. About £2000 was raised to help pay for the running costs of the village hall and both school’s parents associations worked hard to raise substantial sums.

As the nights start to close in and the trees begin to change colour, here are some pictures to bring back memories of a day to remember.

Next year’s Festival is on July 10th!           A day for your diary.
